I recently stayed at the W Fort Lauderdale, and while the property itself is stylish and beautifully maintained, the experience was a bit mixed. The room was clean and comfortable, with nice amenities and a view that added to the overall vibe of the place. However, the front desk service didn’t quite match the high standards you’d expect from a W property. I found the staff at check-in and throughout the stay to be less welcoming and friendly than anticipated, which was disappointing given the hotel’s reputation. Overall, it’s a lovely place with potential, but a warmer and more attentive service would make a big difference in the guest experience.

The W Fort Lauderdale provided a world class experience and truly lives up to being a luxury hotel. I would give this 5 star resort more stars if it were possible. Thank you very much to Raul for ensuring our stay was memorable and rectifying an issue we encountered during check-in. We are already planning our return to Fort Lauderdale and will be staying only at the W from now on. The restaurants at the hotel had the best food during our trip and I cannot recommend Steak 954 enough, the service there was unmatched. No other hotel in Fort Lauderdale beach comes close to the amenities at the W.

Our recent stay at the W Hotel in Ft. Lauderdale was a huge disappointment, leading us to leave after just one night. For the price we paid and having booked a suite, our expectations were high—but they were definitely not met. If we had wanted this kind of experience, we would have booked a 3-star hotel.

Starting with valet parking, the setup was chaotic. There were no signs or directions, and valet staff were hard to identify due to the lack of uniforms. We waited 45 minutes for our car and almost 2 hours (plus two calls) for bedding for the pull-out couch.

The suite itself was in poor condition: peeling decals on the windows, appliances with water streaks and dirt, and chipped countertops. The chair was unstable, and dirty, cigarette-burned outdoor furniture was scattered throughout the room. Floors were visibly dirty, with tile and carpet in similar condition. Spilled laundry powder was left on the tile in front of the washer, and the shower area was filthy, with scum in the drain, slippery tile, and half-filled, residue-covered soap bottles. The bathtub water ran yellow even after multiple drains. Adding to the frustration, the smoke detector battery was low and beeping—understandable, but just another issue during the stay.

Despite raising some of these concerns, we ultimately chose to cut our stay short and moved to the Hilton Bahia down the street, which was a relief. When we contacted Marriott after our stay, we received nothing but a generic “sorry,” with no acknowledgement of the poor standards we encountered or any sincerity in the response. This was incredibly disappointing from a brand we expected better from. We will definitely not be returning.

The one positive was that the staff was polite and pleasant

Incredible service from the wonderful professionals at W ftl. Ynez, Christopher and Raul are true champions of hospitality. As a silver elite member I was immediately presented a sexy upgrade upon arrival. The world class service continued at the pool deck, where Jules stole the show.

Will be interesting to see if the experience is equally as impressive come high season. Cheers

Awesome place! Stayed here for Taylor Swift concert and they had a Taylor party and concert ticket giveaway which was really cool! If you need a shuttle for any reason to get to Hard Rock Stadium or anywhere else you should 100% check with Lauderdale Hospitality Group! They were fantastic!

Our experience at this hotel was an absolute disaster. My husband has been a Marriott loyalty member for over 20 years, but don’t expect that to mean anything here—you’ll only be met with frustration.

We arrived at 12 AM after a long flight, having booked an ocean view room. However, the manager, Kathy, was completely unhelpful. She informed us that our room was not a true ocean view, but rather a partial view with a lovely look at the parking lot. Her explanation? We should have booked an “Ocean Front” room if we wanted a full ocean view, not an “Ocean View” room. Where is the logic in that?

Despite politely asking if they could change our room to something closer to what we expected, especially after our rough journey, Kathy refused to do anything that night. She claimed that in their 400-room hotel, not a single ocean view room was available. She suggested we come back the next day and maybe they could accommodate us.

We came back not once, but three times the next day. After much persistence, they finally moved us to another room. Technically, it’s ocean view, but I’m staring at a pool filled with noisy people right outside my window. It’s far from the relaxing, ocean-facing experience we anticipated.

We are extremely disappointed with our stay. Kathy was unhelpful, and the rest of the reception staff seemed poorly trained. This experience was nowhere near 5-star quality. I would seriously recommend this hotel have one of its stars removed.

Loved our short stay here. W guests get 2 free lounge chairs and an umbrella at the beach across the street WITH beach-side drink and good service. Demographic is definitely not for families, but they were accommodating nonetheless. Definitely my preferred hotel in Fort Lauderdale.
