Overall, had a great experience at this hotel. ||Pros: |- The biggest plus of this hotel was the service. Everyone went the extra mile. The front desk staff, the valets, the manager, the rooftop restaurant folks - everyone was super friendly and helpful. The staff also used text messaging to keep in touch with us through the stay, which was great. |- The hotel is reasonably new/updated and the decor looks great. There's a nice second floor lounge with coffee/tea and it's nice to sit someplace that isn't your room.|- Super convenient location, for sure! ||Didn't have any major issues, though there was a hiccup or two with housekeeping. (Thanks to Cesar for resolving the issue.) ||I will say that if you can avoid it, don't get a room facing Wilshire. It's noisier when your windows are above the street. (I think almost all of their rooms do NOT face that way but if you're a light sleeper, ask them.)

Stayed for one night while visiting Hollywood. We booked the Hollywood Suite, which was a beautiful room, spacious, with a lovely modern bathroom. We had a view looking out to the Hollywood sign however this would have been better if the windows were not filthy. The carpet also had a number of stains however despite this, the hotel and the room were still lovely and I would probably stay again. I would say though, for the price of one night in the suite, I would have expected a complimentary mini bar. This was not the case and the mini bar was incredibly expensive. We had breakfast the next morning on the rooftop which was lovely, staff very friendly. Overall. A very nice hotel but I feel for the cost, there are better options in Hollywood.

We had a pretty good stay here. Our room was a nice size as we used an IHG suite upgrade. Location is convenient; not a lot immediately around in terms of restaurants but close to several museums and The Grove shopping and dining area as well as an easy Uber ride to Beverly Hills. We enjoyed breakfast on the roof as well as happy hour appetizers and a drink one evening. Good view and food.||On the “needs improvement” side, our room windows were very dirty, bathroom lighting was poor and the wine at the complimentary wine hour was pretty wretched. I don’t expect much for free but it was worse than airline wine.||A decent choice if the mid-Wilshire area works well for a stay.

The room I got was pretty clean and tidy, loved it! Very modern and very luxurious, nothing to complain about. Location was alright as well, there’s a few restaurants that are walking distance from here, so if you’re looking for a quick lunch or dinner this is the place.

The only real thing to mention, which isn’t an extremely diminishing factor but I acknowledge it can be quite significant to some, is that the internet service is absolutely horrible. Very spotty, the wi-fi goes on and off, and I constantly have 1 bar, maybe 2 if I’m lucky. Sort of feels like I’m in a forest.

Otherwise, everything was great! Only stayed for a couple nights so I didn’t get to experience everything, but the stay was pleasant.

I'm so glad I chose to stay at the Kimpton Wilshire! The reviews are mixed so I'm glad I gave them a try anyways. Everything from check in, to check out and valet was super smooth and stress free! Staff were helpful and kind. Everything was clean!

Valet parking is an extra $55 per night and there is about a $38 amenities daily fee so just factor that into your budget and you'll be fine.

Many other pros !!-

The rooftop pool was a vibe and lovely to just chill and have a bite/drinks. The drink I had was amazing! They didn't disappoint.

They have cucumber water on the 2nd floor + coffee and tea bar. They even have cold brew with choices of flavored syrups! Which was actually strong.

The hotel is central to everything like Santa Monica, Venice, downtown LA, Korea town.. and etc. Traffic wasn't bad either around this area. & It felt safe.

The rooms were clean, modern, and comfortable. The bathrooms w/ a tub are also a plus! The tubs were deep and spacious 🙂

Overall, I highly recommend staying here!

Hidden fee from hotel and average paying extra $45 a day , those fee never mentioned on website and by the time you check in , hotel price is already expensive and still charging this extra is ridiculous.

They claim they are 4 star hotel but is only 3 star to me , inside room don't have tooth brush and slippers also some light is not working.

Roof top restaurant is not worth the price , small dining area small swimming pool and they automatically applied 20% tips on the bill and use something cover , that make me pay another 20% on top again .

Good coffee here! Other than that, There are many hidden fees for this hotel!!! RUN! The website shows that you can only pay $170 per night. However I spent almost over &500 per night.
Before reserving the hotel, I called the hotel to confirm details. They clearly told me that they have free parking and no pet fee. However I arrived at the hotel, there was only velvet parking available and $50 per night ?
Then I began to check in, they told me that they would charge another $30 for amenity fee. Overall they charged me over $80…
When I just entered the room, The toilet paper was gone and I had to call front desk for it at midnight.
When I asked for late check out due to my meetings, they said no IHG membership was not allowed. The attitude was impatient.
By the way, the hotel is next to McDonald in downtown, be careful….

Overall, it was a scam hotel and I don’t recommend anyone to go unless I hate you…..

It doesn’t look like much from the outside and the lobby isn’t much, but the Kimpton Wilshire is a really nice hotel. Our room was decent sized and quiet. Love the rooftop pool, it’s such a nice place to have breakfast, and our server was friendly and fast. Also enjoyed the cold brew in the coffee room. Big shoutout to Carolina at the front desk who was so helpful about a couple of special requests, as well as Luis from Signature Parking, which handles the valet service. Only gave it four stars as the pool got really crowded with people who were not hotel guests. They showed up early and parked themselves on the lounges all day so we never got to use them. Perhaps they couldn’t aside a few for guests? The music is really loud too, which is too bad as the pool would otherwise be a great place to chill.
